Trip Summary

Embrace for an epic adventure in Nepal: encountering Nepalese hospitality face to face throughout these 12 days. Starting and finishing in the royal city Kathmandu, you will savor traditional Nepali cuisine as you discover about local life in charming villages.

Your adventure starts with river rafting on the Trishuli river, observing a new perspective of the lush mountain landscapes surrounding the river while spotting monkeys and monasteries perched on the mountain. The rafting experience is mostly Class II-III meaning you have a mix of aquatic thrill and time to relax on the raft.

The adventure continues as we grab our trekking poles and join a guided 4-day hike from village to village along the base of the Annapurna mountain. Trekking in the Himalayas doesn’t get much better than Poon Hill trek crossing suspension bridges and dotted by waterfalls on the steep Himalayan slopes. We will have plenty of time to interact with local people; the highlight of this trek being a spectacular sunrise over Poon Hill, the highest point of the trek at 3210m. Poon Hill summit commands a magnificent panoramic view of both Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Ranges which is surreal!

Return to Pokhara, the getaway city of the Himalayas and one of our favorite traveller cities with a day full of sightseeing activities and free time in the evening enjoying Phewa lake and chilled vibes.

Up next is a safari in Chitwan National Park spotting endemic wildlife by boat and jeep. Get your cameras charged to capture the pictures of rhinoceros, tigers, leopards, sloth bears, wild bison as well as the near-extinct Gharials crocodiles. Chitwan is a UNESCO site, home of one of the last populations of single-horned Asiatic rhinoceros. You can enjoy a short jungle walk and experience the thrill of the wilderness. Your jungle activity program will include Jeep 4×4 safari, Canoeing, Crocodile Conservation Area visit, Elephant Breeding centre visit, and Bird watching.

Adventure is calling, and Nepal is the answer. You will be spoiled for choice on this perfectly paced journey that’s suitable for adventurers of all ages. Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difficulty level of the Trek?

  • The trekking level for this trip is beginner. Even for a first-timer, this trek is achievable if you make proper preparation prior to departure.

The route is not paved and is likely to get rough, rocky, and gravel-strewn most of the time.

For the duration of the 4 day trek, you will have to walk for about 5 – 6 hours every day on average.

How fit should I be to join the trip?

You don’t need to be a hardcore trekker or an athlete, that’s for sure. If you’re already an avid trekker, this should not be much of a challenge for you. Trekking in the Himalayas is easy to moderate because of high altitude and requires only walking with no technical climbing. The adventure calls for 4 days with approximately 5-6hrs of walking a day. The fitter you are, the higher your chances of success. Even for a first-timer, this trek is achievable if you make proper preparation prior to departure.

To make your life easier, we are offering a complimentary mountain climbing training plan to all our clients, designed by Ryan Mex.

What about training and preparation before the climb?

Whether you are an experienced trekker or a novice traveler, you must train well before joining our trekking trips. Since you’ll be walking through rough and rocky trails for 4 days, it is advisable to engage in cardio activities at least 2 months prior to the trek. Prepare yourself and maintain your physical fitness with activities like swimming, hiking, cycling, and running.

To make your life easier, we are offering a complimentary mountain climbing training plan to all our clients, designed by Ryan Mex.

Acclimitazation: do we need oxygen or altitude pills?

No oxygen needed, and altitude pills are not mandatory.

Our experienced guides will be equipped with common altitude medications such as Diamox, should the need arise.

What’s the risk of altitude sickness (AMS)?

The risk of AMS differs from person to person. It is recommended to trek at a slow and steady pace, instead of rushing to reach your destination. Most importantly, stay hydrated and drink as many fluids as possible to reduce the risk of AMS.

Will it be the right season for trekking?

Is it possible to arrive earlier / stay longer?

Yes, ofcourse. As long as you are in Kathmandu on the trip dates, you are free to arrive / leave whenever you want. It is best to let us know your plans so we can organize transfers accordingly.

What type of insurance do I need?

Every trekker is required to make a travel insurance package which covers trekking. This is an absolute must for any of our expeditions.

What kind of accommodation is available during trekking?

During the trek, you will be spending your nights at the local tea houses that offer the best facilities available. You will be accommodated in deluxe quality teahouses in every overnight stop. We strive to select the cleanest, coziest and most comfortable tea houses available, however it is worth noting that rooms are not luxurious like the hotels around the city area.

During the rest of the trip, you will be staying in hand- picked Western style resorts which range between 3-4 star.

Will it be cold?

As we climb higher and higher, yes it gets very cold. The climb takes us from tropical climates to alpine climates, with varying temperatures between +25C and -0C. Refer to our recommended Climbing and Equipment Gear list.

What vaccinations do I need?

As per WHO suggestions, make sure you are up-to-date on all routine vaccines such as flu, tetanus, chickenpox and measles. All eligible travellers should be up to date with their COVID-19 vaccines. It is recommended to have all shots of Hep A & Hep B, rabies and typhoid.

What's the power plug in Nepal? Is there electricity in the tea houses?

In Nepal the power plug sockets are of type C. Type C is the normal ‘2 round pins’,  also known as the standard “Euro” plug.

Yes, most teahouses in the Everest region have electricity and do provide charging facilities. However, since they are solar-powered, the charging stations are available only for small electronic devices, such as mobile phones, portable chargers, cameras, and battery packs.

Bear in mind that sometimes charging facilities come at an additional cost, depending on the teahouse. It ranges from 1-5euros, increasing as you go higher during the trek.

During trekking, it is recommended to bring power bank to charge your devices.
