Begin your day with a short transfer to the beautiful Arusha National Park, where a guided nature drive and an ecological walk with a park ranger immerse you in Tanzania’s diverse landscapes. Discover lush forests, tranquil crater lakes, and sweeping views of Mount Meru while spotting wildlife such as buffalo, giraffes, and black-and-white colobus monkeys. After your adventure in the park, return to Arusha for a relaxed afternoon and evening at leisure. A perfect balance of exploration and serenity, this day offers a captivating introduction to Tanzania’s natural beauty.

After an early breakfast, depart for Lake Eyasi for a fascinating full-day cultural encounter with two of East Africa’s most unique indigenous communities, the Hadzabe and Datoga tribes.

Begin with the Hadzabe Bushmen, one of the last remaining hunter-gatherer groups, and join them on a traditional hunting and gathering excursion. Learn their ancient survival skills, the art of using bows and arrows, and their deep connection to the natural world.

Later, visit the Datoga people, skilled traditional blacksmiths renowned for crafting jewelry, tools, and weapons using age-old metalworking techniques. Engage with the artisans, observe their craftsmanship, and gain insight into their traditions, attire, and way of life.

After a local lunch or picnic by the lakeside, enjoy a scenic drive back to Arusha, arriving in the late afternoon or early evening, enriched by a rare and authentic cultural experience.

After an early breakfast, meet your driver-guide and set off toward the legendary Serengeti National Park. Travel through the picturesque Ngorongoro Highlands before descending onto the sweeping Serengeti plains, where the adventure truly begins.

Enjoy a scenic en-route game drive as you make your way to the Northern Serengeti (Mara region), an area celebrated for its breathtaking landscapes and rich wildlife. Keep your eyes open for elephants, giraffes, hippos, crocodiles, and an array of predators including lions and cheetahs.

A picnic lunch will be enjoyed within the park before continuing to your lodge, arriving in the evening to relax and unwind amid the sounds of the African wilderness.

After breakfast, set out on a morning game drive in the Northern Serengeti, exploring the scenic Mara River region. This area is known for its dramatic landscapes and incredible wildlife, including large herds of buffalo and elephants, as well as a rich population of predators such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs.

After lunch, begin your journey southwards with an en-route game drive toward the Central Serengeti, also known as the Seronera Valley. This region is famed for its exceptional year-round wildlife viewing, offering excellent chances to spot big cats and a variety of resident animals including giraffes, hippos, hyenas, and antelopes.

Arrive at your lodge or camp in the evening, surrounded by the sounds and beauty of the African savannah.

1. Combined prison island tour, stone town and spice tour – if you would like to experience a completely different vibe to the beach and water-based activities. Stone Town is home to markets, elegant architecture and historical sites in a maze of utterly fascinating winding roads and alleyways. Do not miss Stone Town’s huge and elaborately carved Zanzibari doors!
2. Safari blue trip – an unforgettable journey through the crystal-clear waters around Zanzibar, showcasing the diverse marine life and stunning landscapes of Zanzibar. Also includes snorkelling, lunch and a visit to a beautiful sandbank.
3. Jozani Forest Tour, Salam Cave, Paje Beach, The Rock Restaurant – a full day of exploring various attractions in Zanzibar, including a visit to Zanzibar’s famous rock restaurant. 

Please note: Each experience is about 1.5 hours from Nungwi. The days are full but incredibly enjoyable. 

Why Nungwi? We base ourselves in Nungwi because, although our optional activities take place elsewhere in Zanzibar, it offers the best beaches, vibrant local vibes, and unlike many other areas, is less affected by tides.

The lodges will provide meals to their guests. Zanzibar is home to a vast range of cuisine, and Italian food as well as seafood is especially prevalent on the island.

No vaccines are required for entry. However, it is strongly recommended that you consult your doctor or the Immunisation Centre in Malta before travelling. They can advise you on any recommended vaccinations or preventive measures to help ensure your safety and wellbeing during your trip.
