Christmas in Krakow
Krakow is tailor-made for Christmas and a perfect destination for a holiday to visit Christmas markets in the festive month due to its historic Old Town, huge festive markets in the main square and horse-drawn carriages. The short days and cold evenings are the perfect excuse to warm up with mulled wine and indulge in some hearty Polish food, which you can find in the cosy Christmas market. With its castle skyline and beautiful cobbled streets, the Old Town becomes a living Christmas card, especially with a sprinkling of snow. The whole Christmas Market is draped in fairy lights and offers everything you could want – local crafts, family-friendly attractions, mouth-watering waffles and, of course, mulled wine!
Zakopane
The mountain town of Zakopane is one of the best day trips from Krakow and you will not believe how beautiful this area of Poland is. Zakopane is located at the base of the Tatra Mountains, right on the Slovakian border. Zakopane is a popular destination year-round. In summer, visitors flock to the area to embark on epic hikes around the mountains, and in the colder months Zakopane is home to some Christmas markets and excellent skiing!
Zakopane is known for it culinary delights and one of the best things to do in Zakopane is to eat cheese “Oscypek”. It is a delicious smoked sheep’s milk cheese which is a local staple, and you will find stands selling the stuff all over the town of Zakopane. Other popular dishes from this area are kwaśnica, potato kluski, hałuski, lamb specialities and moskola (a pancake served with oscypek) and bryjka.

We will meet at Malta International Airport and travel together to Krakow, Poland. If anyone is flying from outside of Malta, you will need to meet us in Krakow, on the 1st December 2023.

Optional Activities to do during the day:
(i) Tour of the Salt Mines -No stay in Krakow would be complete without a visit to the impressive Wieliczka Salt Mine. With over 1.5 million visitors per year, the Krakow salt mines is one of Poland’s most popular attractions.
(ii) Tour of Auschwitz – Auschwitz concentration camp was a complex of over 40 concentration and extermination camps operated by Nazi Germany in occupied Poland during World War II

For safety, travel insurance is mandatory when travelling with us.
Accomodation will be a hand selected 3* hotels. The price includes accommodation in a shared double room, however, if one wishes to have a private room, this is possible, but at an extra cost.
You could get a single room at an additional charge of 68 euro, however, meeting up with the group beforehand could give you the opportunity to meet someone and decide together to share a room.
