Why you should join our trip to Uzbekistan
Join our 2nd group trip to Uzbekistan organised by Michelle from ‘Cheeky Passports’, with other fun and like-minded traveller, on a 12-day journey across Uzbekistan. We will visit beautiful palaces, mosques and ancient castles as we journey back in time and explore Uzbekistan’s wondrous architecture and monuments.
We will also visit the pleasant capital, Tashkent including the fascinating Chorsu Bazaar, and spend one night in a traditional yurt! You will also have the opportunity to go on a camel ride.

Solo Traveller?
More than 50% of our bookings are from solo adventurers. We run open groups which means that anyone could join in the fun and meet like-minded travellers along the way. You can either team up with someone and share a room or else opt for the single supplement.
We have a limited amount of seats reserved at the price of €850 – a 25% deposit is required on booking and the remaining amount is to be paid 1 or 2 months prior to departure dates.

Arrive at Tashkent airport at approximately 00.45. Transfer to the hotel where you have the opportunity to rest and have breakfast in the morning.
City tour in Tashkent: Excursion through old part of the city including a visit to:
Pass by other notable city monuments such as Alisher Navoi Opera and Ballet Theatre, Amir Timur Square with a monument to the great commander in the center, famous Tashkent clocks and the Uzbekistan (Intourist) Hotel and Palace of Forums.

Morning drive towards Chimgan Mountains (90 km, 1.5 hrs.).
On arrival, time to enjoy chair-cable car lift to reach on the top. (Note that price of chair cable lift is not included in the package and needs to be purchased separately)
Time for taking photos and nature view. Take chair-cable car to come down. (Optional – 20USD pp). Those who opt out could enjoy a relaxed walk in the area enjoying the nature or could sit at a cozy cafe.
Drive to the shores of Charvak Lake. Enjoy the scenery and if a season permits try some of water activities catamaran-riding, Quadra-cycles, Paragliding, Horse-back riding and etc. (Optional – approx 20 USD)

05:00 Transfer to the airport, 07:00 flight to Urgench by HY 51.

Khiva city tour:
If you ever dreamed of getting into Eastern fairy tale, this is it. You will observe and experience the narrow streets, carved “ayvans”, veranda and doors, majestic minarets and mausoleums, heritage and arts – all kept with care in this city as great treasure.

Drive to Bukhara: In old days, route from Khiva to Bukhara lasted more than a month. Today it takes 6-7 hours by vehicle, through mysterious red desert Kyzyl-Kum.
Visit to Ulli-Khovli Complex. The fortress, now restored, showcases the culture of two people – the Uzbeks and the Turkmens.

Full day tour of the main sites in Bukhara, one of Uzbekistan’s famous silk road cities, a centre for trade, culture and religion. It is filled with beautiful madrasahs and stunning mosques.

Evening dinner and listening of national Kazakh singer (Akyn) at fire.

Please note that yurts camp accommodate 4 people, so a yurt camp will be assigned to every four people in the group accordingly. Also bathrooms will be shared amongst the group.

For Uzbekistan the associated plug type is C and F which are plugs with two round pins. The standard voltage is 220 V at a frequency of 50 Hz.
Maltese citizens do not need a visa.
Food is quite diverse in this region. It’s possible to find oriental or European. Up to your taste. Most of the restaurants contain in the menu both – Uzbek and European dishes.
We advise to bring cash. Visa or Mastercard well presented, but not always work properly.

If you cancel your booking, we will offer a refund of any balance which we have not yet paid or are obliged to pay to any other Third Party. When a booking is cancelled within the month prior to departure, the remaining balance will be non refundable as well as we would be fully committed at that stage. All types of travel insurance are supposed to cover “cancellations” and for this reason we require that such travel insurance is purchased prior to travel.
