Offering a close and impressive perspective of Mount Fitz Roy, this iconic peak, is beautifully framed by the turquoise waters of Laguna de los Tres, creating a breathtaking and postcard-perfect scene.

Your adventure starts off in the morning as you meet our experienced mountain guide at your hotel. The trek commences by taking a transfer to the trailhead at Río Eléctrico bridge, positioned 18 km north of the town. From the beginning, the landscape unfolds, revealing a panorama of diverse glaciers—Marconi, Eléctrico, Cagliero—and in the distance, Vespignani glacier toward Lago del Desierto.

The path maintains a gentle incline, leading to the first scenic viewpoint, Piedras Blancas glacier. As we emerge from the forest into a clearing, the majestic peaks of “S,” Saint Exupéry, Poincenot, Fitz Roy, Mermoz, and Guillaumet come into full view. Ascending approximately 400m in an hour, we reach Laguna de los Tres. The rocky and stepped path to this point provides an awe-inspiring view of Fitz Roy, Glacier de los Tres, and its lagoon, evoking a sense of insignificance in the grandeur of the surroundings.

Circling Laguna de los Tres, we proceed towards the Laguna Sucia viewpoint and its glacier. Tips & Important things to know before travelling to Patagonia

  • Pack for all seasons - in one day! it can shift from sunshine to snow, rain, and fierce wind in a single day. Because of Patagonia’s southern latitude and thinner ozone, UV rays are much stronger than most people expect. Always wear sunscreen, UV-protective sunglasses, and a hat, even in cold or overcast conditions.
  • Be prepared for long travel times between destinations and carry motion sickness pills if this is something you suffer with.
  • Delays could occur due to weather conditions (be it air, water or land transport)- so please be patient, we do not have control over mother nature but our partners in the visiting country will always find the best possible solution for you.
  • Currency & Payments: While both countries use different currencies (Argentine Peso & Chilean Peso), cash is often preferred in remote areas. In Argentina, bring USD in cash — exchange rates are often better at local exchanges. Many small towns don’t accept cards or may lose service, so carry local cash and small bills.
  • Limited connectivity: Wi-Fi and mobile signal can be weak or unavailable in national parks and remote lodges (i)Download essential documents, tickets, and offline maps in advance (ii) Let loved ones know you might be off-grid for a few days — and enjoy the disconnect.
  • Physical Preparation Pays Off - Many of Patagonia’s highlights involve trekking and hiking, sometimes over rugged terrain. Train beforehand with regular hikes and some elevation gain. If youre not into hiking, we will find alternatives for you so that you will not miss out on the beauty Patagonia has to offer.
